Alarm doesn't ring or the app stops
Almost every “the alarm didn't ring” report comes from the phone closing the app in the background or from a mute option. Go through this list once.
1. Is the alarm turned on?
Tap the Charge Alarm or Theft Alarm card on the main screen; an active card is highlighted. The charge alarm only rings while the phone is charging and the battery reaches the level set in Settings › Full Battery Level.
2. Is the background service running?
While the app is active you should see its notification in the status bar. If it disappears after a while, the phone is closing the app:
- Allow notifications for the app.
- Set battery usage to Unrestricted / Don't optimize.
- Follow the extra steps for your brand in battery settings by phone brand.
- Don't swipe the app away with “clear all” in the recent apps screen on Xiaomi, Huawei or OPPO phones; lock it there instead.
Settings › Check permissions shows which of these are still missing.
3. Is the alarm muted?
In Settings › Sound check:
- Muted Alarm Hours – no alarm in the selected hours (e.g. at night).
- Mute Android Auto – no alarm while connected to Android Auto.
- Mute USB Charge – no alarm while charging from a computer's USB port.
- Ring in Silent Mode – turn it on if your phone is often on silent or vibrate.
- Set Volume Levels – the alarm volume may be set too low.
4. Is the alarm just late?
Extra Time waits the selected minutes after the battery is full and Alarm Delay waits a few seconds before ringing. Set them to off if you want the alarm immediately.
5. Low battery alarm doesn't ring while I'm using the phone
By default the low battery alarm stays quiet while the screen is on. Turn on Settings › Sound › Low Battery Alarm Settings › Rings While Screen Is On.
6. The alarm doesn't show on the lock screen
Allow full-screen notifications for the app (see setup and permissions) and check Settings › Security › Wake Lock.
7. After a restart or app update
The service starts again automatically after the phone restarts. If it doesn't, open the app once. Some brands also need the auto start permission for this.
Still not working? Send us an error report from the app (how to) and we'll take a look.
